It’s interesting what life throws at you .. sometimes it’s what you least expect and for the most part that isn’t a bad thing. For those of you who don’t know, I am a trustee for an incredible charity run by a family friend. They asked me to come on board to help with the social media impact as well as the website design & development for the charity.
The charity, named the Bumba Foundation, provides sustainable education opportunities to children in vulnerable areas of Uganda through innovative projects and community ownership with a focus on the reduction of poverty. Since 2011 we have successfully raised the funds to build and run two community primary schools and two vocational skills centres in Budaka District, Eastern Uganda, which supports over 1,500 young people and community members each year. The projects focus on providing access to quality education, improving health & sanitation, reducing poverty, whilst increasing individual and community sustainability. If you want to learn more about the charity, you can click here to do so.
That all being said, it is now time for me to go and witness the charities impact first hand, whilst increasing our media collection for upcoming social campaigns and events. At the moment we are looking to go in May but I have to make sure I am back for the 29th because if I miss Penny’s second birthday my life wouldn’t be worth living.
The trip is going to last around 10 days .. 4 of which will be taken up by travelling .. and I will be keeping you all up to date with what is happening on this blog as well as the blog and social media pages for the charity. So if you want to, go and check those out and come along for the journey!
The trip to Uganda will take over 21 hours, not to mention the travel time it takes to get to the schools, so no doubt I’ll be writing a lot whilst travelling .. you lucky lot!

Until the next one,
Goodbye.
